Friend Makin’ Monday: Favorite Holiday

Yay, I remembered in time  that today is Monday and I’m taking part again in FMM, hosted by Kenz over at All the Weigh.

Today’s question is: What is your favorite holiday?

Well, honestly speaking that’s a bit of a tough question. I’m not utterly keen on holidays, because most of the time that means so much stress that you cannot really enjoy the time. But…

… I like Christmas, because that’s when all our family comes together. We’ll sing carrolls, the kids will open presents and we’ll have delicious Christmas cookies. I also love Christmas season, because all the decorations bring lots of light into the dark and cold season.

… I also like August 8, which is a holiday only in our city, celebrating the religious peace from 1555. There had been an ongoing conflict between the catholic and the protestant church and on August 8, 1555 both sides made a compromise that they would no longer fight for religion. It’s really only a holiday in our city and most people use the day to get out of town and enjoy the hot August weather.

  1. This is a toughie! Can I choose this entire time of year as my answer? I love every holiday from Halloween all the way to Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. This time of year means so much time with family, so many good foods, and gorgeous color everywhere… how can you not love it all!? 🙂
